Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your interest in our school.
St Gabriel’s R.C. Primary School has been serving the local community for 130 years, our values are centered on the teaching of the Gospel. Our aim is for these values to permeate the relationships and daily life of the faith community of home, school and parish.
Our school is a small school which is characterised by its friendly and inclusive environment which allows pupils to achieve their full potential. Our recent Ofsted Inspection stated “This is a good school. It provides pupils with outstanding care, guidance and support”
(Click here to read our Ofsted Report)
The school caters for boys and girls through their primary years, commencing in the year in which they become five years old. The school is single form entry, setting the admissions limit for the current intake year at 30 pupils. The number of pupils on roll has increased significantly in recent years and the current pupil roll is in excess of 180.
Whist the school’s background is rooted in its long standing service to the community; recent years have seen a step change in the progress of the school. A huge investment has been undertaken in many areas including buildings, where a new Early Years wing has been constructed and associated outdoor canopy, which provides children in this unit with state of the art learning facilities.
Education is a partnership between home and school and we place a great deal of emphasis on our partnership with parents. We believe that children learn best when home and school work together for their benefit. When your child starts school our job begins, but yours continues! We aim to nurture the wealth of knowledge and understanding that your child arrives with, promoting a willingness and enthusiasm to learn more.
We hope that this prospectus gives you an understanding of what the school has to offer, but if you have any questions please contact the school office. You are welcome to visit the school, our doors are always open.
Yours sincerely
Ms. Claire Ahern
