Please complete half an hour of silent reading each day using your accelerated reader book or find a book you are interested in on myON. Complete a quiz at home if you finish your book!

Maths - For each day there is a power point with the teaching slides on then a worksheet of questions to complete in your book.

Shared Reading - Tuesday

Write your own elf poems for 3 of the topics below.

Use the planning sheet to plan your rhyming words before attempting your poems!


Shared Reading - Wednesday

Read chapter 5 and 6 of The Christmasaurus and complete the activtiy, describing how the Christmasaurus is feeling at the end of chapter 6.


Monday - Read the extract from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

Highlight the parts of the text which are spoken by Bob and Scrooge in two different colours.

Write a play script of this scene (Cold write)



Tuesday - Use the success criteria to mark your writing from yesterday, noting what you did well and which are targets for the future.

Read and annotate the example play script pages 1 - 4 and write a list of the features you can see.

English - Wednesday

Add stage directions to the example sheet, telling the actors HOW to say the words.

Next complete your own conversation between Bob and Scrooge, set out in the correct way, including stage directions for your actors. Begin by 'setting the scene' at the start of your writing.

English - Thursday

Plan your own 4 scenes about Scrooge's next Christmas (when he is nice). Look at the example sheet and then complete your own planning sheet.

RE Monday 

Read the Psalm and the extract from the Bible about Mary and Elizabeth.

Answer the questions below in as much detail as you can and using full sentences.

  • In the psalm, why are people waiting and how are we told to wait?
  • How did Mary ‘wait’?
  • How do Christians prepare during Advent for the coming of Jesus at Christmas?
  • How do they wait in hope for the Lord?
  • How can we use this time of waiting purposefully?
