Monday 2nd November

Good Morning Year 4!

If you do not have access to a laptop to look at this week's work, please complete the following work from your CPG books that were sent home.

 

Maths - complete the Year 3 objectives test (pages 2-5) 

English - complete page 2-3 comprehension book 'Choosing a Bike' Remember to answer in full sentences.

Grammar - Complete pages 4-7 on nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs.

Handwriting - Complete pages 2 and 3 

Science - Find some information about static electricity and see if you can create your own using a balloon! 

 

When you have finished your work, take photos and send them to your teacher using Seesaw.

 

Tuesday 3rd November

Maths - complete pages 6-9

English - complete pages 4-5 The Tale of Custard the Dragon  (comprehension book)

Grammar - complete pages 8-11 on Pronouns.

Handwriting - complete pages 4 and 5

RE - Read the passage below from Scripture. Choose to be one of the apostles and write a letter to your family explaining that you are going to follow Jesus and why you are doing it.

 

Wednesday 4th November 

Handwriting - pages 6 and 7

Maths - 10 minute weekly workout 1, pages 2 and 3. Mental workouts 1 and 2 (time yourself!)

English - Comprehension pages 6 and 7 on Aesop's Fables.

Grammar - pages 12 - 15 on articles, determiners and clauses.

 

Thursday 5th November

Handwriting - pages 8 and 9

Maths - mental workouts 3 and 4. Pages 10 -13 in the targeted question book

English - Comprehension pages 8 and 9 Interview with Jacqueline Wilson.

Grammar pages 16-19 on noun phrases and adverbial phrases.

History - Write a letter to Boudicca to inform her that you want to join her army against the Romans. Remember to write in the first person.

 

Friday 6th November

Handwriting pages 8 and 9

Maths - 10 minute weekly workout 2. Targeted question book pages 14 - 17

English - Comprehension pages 10 -11 Harry Drinkwater's Diary

Grammar - Pages 20 - 23 on adverbials, conjunctions and prepositions

RE - Read pages 46-49 below and answer these questions in full sentences. Take care with your handwriting and punctuation!

  • What did you find impressive about the ceremony?
  • What does the bishop actually do? To whom does the bishop pray? What special action does he make with his hands?
  • Why do you think the candidates have sponsors? What do they do? Whom do they represent?
  • What do you think the promises mean for the life of the candidates?
  • What is the significance of the anointing?
  • What gift do the candidates receive at Confirmation and how do you think these help them in their lives?
