Biodiversity

Earth Week

During Earth Week we looked at ways we could help save our planet.

We created a bug hotel to provide a safe hideaway for insects to live in. By providing these insects with inviting homes we can help promote their wellbeing and contribute to increasing their numbers.

We collected used plastic bottles and recycled them into plant pots. Plastic recycling reduces the need to extract new, raw materials from the earth as it reuses the stuff that's already processed and protects natural resources. This can help reduce emissions of heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere. It also prevents adding more rubbish to landfills.

Biodiversity

Children from Year 5 visited Manchester United Football ground to find out how they were trying to save our planet. We learnt that MUFC has reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability through a global partnership with Renewable Energy Group, a leading producer of renewable fuels.to help tackle climate changes and create a cleaner world. MUFC have adapted all their machinery to use renewable.

We worked in teams to produce a poster of how we can help save our planet.

Year 3 designed their own bird homes and bird houses to encourage birds to visit our school playground more often.
