Caritas Ambassadors and Chaplaincy

The Caritas Ambassadors

Our job is a very important one!

We look after the most precious thing in our school – our faith. We are messengers of God’s love! We are entrusted with the responsibility of giving joyful witness of Christ in our school. We lead prayer and worship in the school.

At St. Gabriel's, we share the school's vision and believe that all children are unique and equal as God's children, their voices should be heard and they should be treated with dignity.

Our Caritas ambassadors are passionate about their roles and are excellent role models, leading by example and sharing their passion for protecting the most vulnerable in our school, local community and wider world.

Meet the Team!

Sunshine Days!

At the end of each half term, children take part in a Sunshine Day which is based around one of the Caritas in Action themes. The themes are as follows:

  • Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
  • The Dignity of the Human Person
  • The Dignity of Work
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Stewardship
  • Family and Community
  • Solidarity and the Common Good

Children learn about and complete fun activities on their theme and can come to school dressed in yellow or rainbow colours. Here are some pictures of our work:

We visited the Relics of St. Bernadette at the Salford Cathedral

To celebrate harvest, we collected for Rochdale food bank...

During Advent, we completed a reverse advent calendar and donated the proceeds to local homeless charities

As a special treat to the residents, we went along to our local care home to sing Christmas carols and bring some festive cheer!
