Caritas Ambassadors

Meet the team...

The vision of Caritas is for a society where there is justice and equality and where the voices of those experiencing poverty, disadvantage and/or discrimination are heard valued and acted upon so that all people can live in peace and dignity.

At St. Gabriel's, we share this vision and believe that all children are unique and equal as God's children, their voices should be heard and they should be treated with dignity.

Our Caritas ambassadors are passionate about their roles and are excellent role models, leading by example and sharing their passion for protecting the most vulnerable in our school, local community and wider world.

September 2021 - Miles to Afghanistan Fundraiser

Love in Action

Our children were deeply moved by the suffering of the refugees who came to England from Afghanistan in the summer. We wanted to support Caritas in the appeal for help for the vulnerable people who had fled their homes. We decided to organise an active challenge where, between all the children and staff in the school, we would travel the 3500 miles distance from England to Afghanistan, raising money along the way.

The children raised a WHOPPING £647!!!!

October 2021 - Harvest Collection

Thank you to all our wonderful parents and families who donated to this year's Harvest appeal. All the products were donated to Rochdale Food Bank who were extremely grateful. COVID-19 has hit families in Rochdale hard and many vulnerable families will benefit from your generosity!

November 2021 - Anti-bullying week challenge

Our Caritas Ambassadors have issued all children in school a challenge throughout anti-bullying week on 15th-19th November. They would like all children to commit to saying three kinds things to other children who they would not normally speak to in school. The reason for this is to promote respect and the dignity of the human person.
