Children's Champion



St Gabriel’s Children's Champions was set up just over 4 years ago, and is made up of parents, staff, governors and parishioners.  The purpose of the group is to work along side the local community in fundraising for our wonderful school.

The main  group meets up after school at 3:15pm on the second Tuesday of each new term.  Ms Chadderton-Mulrooney, our Breakfast and After School Club leader very kindly assists in caring for our children whilst parents attend the meetings.  On the third Monday of every term, the parents group meet at Woolworth Sports & Social at 7pm to discuss how we can carry forward tasks and events discussed in the school meetings.


Our events & fundraising efforts over the years have included, discos, cabaret shows, Christmas card sales, but our biggest fundraiser that take place every summer is our Summer fair.  These events have helped us purchase new dining furniture, outdoor seating, we have paid for coaches to take the children to shows such as Shrek The Musical, and for the past 2 years, we have provided funds for the current Year 6 so that they can enjoy their final few weeks with us at school.


Our new big fundraiser is to be able to make the playground a more vibrant, better place for the children to play and we are looking at buying  Multi Use Games Nets.  These nets are being priced at over £8000 and therefore we need as many new fundraising ideas and parent helpers as we can.


If you think you are able to help in anyway, please come along and get on board.  We welcome any new fresh ideas or if you are able to assist with any sponsorship that would be fantastic.  If you are unable to attend any of the meetings, then please provide us with your email details and we will keep you updated


The Children took part in a film night on in order to raise funds for the Children’s Champions.
