Literacy
What has happened to each of the vegetables? Who do they
think has done this? How do they think the vegetables are feeling? How do they know? E.g. I
think the carrot is feeling frightened because his eyes and mouth are wide open and it is stuck.
What do we know about who has done this? E.g. they are mean, they are scary.
Encourage children to make predictions- what do they think is going to happen next? Refer back to the title and front cover.
Task: Create 1 or more thought bubbles for the vegetables that have been trapped. E.g I’m so scared
Look at the bedtime story picture and discuss it.
Here are some questions you may wish to ask.
Whose bedroom is this?
What can you tell about his personality and interests?
How old do you think the boy mouse is? Why?
Which fairy tale do you think they might be reading?
How long do you think they have been reading for?
Do they read every night before bed?
Expressive Arts
Can you make your own Supertato?
