Monday 25th Jan

Morning Activity

Complete this week’s 180 Times Tables sheet below. (If you can't print it off, then jot down the answers as quickly as possible in your home-learning workbooks.)

Weekly Spellings

Your power point presentation and spelling activities are attached below.

Watch the presentation today, complete the activities during the week, then ask an adult to test you on Friday.

This week we will be continuing our work on explanation and explanatory texts (with the added bonus of a bit of science revision).

Today, I have written a short explanation about the human digestive system using a range of appropriate sentence starters like the ones used in the texts we looked at last week. Your task today is to identify these sentence starters in the explanation, then to sort and classify them.

Reading Journal Activity

Each day this week, you will be given a short text and comprehension on how to care for a range of animals. Choose an appropriate level of challenge. (Remember that one star is the most straightforward and three stars means the text and questions are more challenging.)

You may either print out the appropriate answer sheet or simply write the answers in your home-learning book.

This week’s Maths is all about area. The power point will take you through each step and then there is a worksheet to complete. If you would like any extra work or information on this, then check out Oak Academy (Year 4 Maths – Area).

I have also included a quick starter and a true or false reasoning activity.

Remember to keep up with your reading for at least 30 minutes a day. Well done to all of those pupils who are completing quizzes regularly and working towards their Spring target. It is good to see that most pupils are now building up points towards their target every week.

Please work through the power point below. Don’t worry if you can’t do the investigations, you will still be able to read the information and watch the video.

If you are joining the live lesson on Monday, we will go through this together.
