Log in to your MyOn reading and select a book to read.
Tell me about what you did over half term. You can choose to tell me about a number of things, or one particular thing that you enjoyed. Choose how you want to present your work - as a diary, poem, newspaper article, story, letter (formal or informal).
Choose your level of challenge. If you did a certain level of challenge last term, choose the next one.
Recap of percentages. Choose the worksheet you would like to complete.
You will need to focus on your place value, especially in regards to decimals. You will be working out percentages of money.
My advice would be to work out the £ and pence parts separately and then add them together at the end once you have solved the percentages of each part (only if you need to do it this way - if you have another method, you may do that).
E.g. of one of the questions:
25% of £12.40
Work out the percentage of the £ first:
10% of £12 = £1.20 (zero is added as a place value holder for money)
5% of £1.20 = (remember to half it) £0.60 (because half of £1 is 50p, and half of 20p is 10p)
20% = £1.20 x 2 = £2.40
Add my percentages together: (20% + the 5%) £0.60 + £2.40 = £3.00
Work out percentage of the pence:
10% of £0.40 = £0.04
5% of £0.04 = £0.02 (I halved it)
20% = £0.04 x 2 = £0.08
Now add my percentages together: (20% + 5%) £0.08 + £0.02 = £0.10
Add both sets of answers together:
£3.00 + £0.10 = £3.10
So, 25% of £12.40 = £3.10
