Statements To Live By
The Statements To Live By form an integral part of our RE and PSHE curricula and play a major part in ensuring that British Values are at the heart of teaching, learning, understanding and behaviour at our school.
Ofsted: 'fundamental British values' are: democracy; the rule of law; individual liberty; mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith.
How the Statements To Live By are interwoven in the Curriculum and life of our school:
Statements form the basis for teaching in RE and PSHE
Classes take turns to prepare and lead weekly assemblies to teach about the current Statement To Live By
Statements are introduced on a weekly basis
Hall display to promote knowledge and understanding
Statements are displayed in classrooms
Communal area displays celebrate the children’s work
