Morning Activity
For your morning activity, choose from the following:
Grammar Activity
There are two short grammar activities to complete – one for Wednesday and one for Thursday. These can be printed out, answered in books or simply discussed.
English
Today I would like you to read and compare the following two explanations. Whilst they are both about the same thing, the second one is clearly better than the first.
In your home-learning books, note down ways in which the second version is more successful.
Think about:
~ quality of information
~ sentence starters
~ the way the text is organised
~ the way things are explained
~ how pronouns are used and how the writer makes sure that it is impersonal
~ whether there is anything on the page to help the reader understand the
explanation
Reading Journal Activity
Today’s activity is a little different – I have given you a short explanatory text about dolphins. There are three levels of challenge from one star up to three stars. Choose the level that you feel is an appropriate challenge for you.
Read the text at your chosen level and answer the questions.
The answers are there for you, so that you can self-check and mark your work after you have finished.
Maths
Today’s Maths continues to develop division.
Again, there is a daily power point to take you through each step, followed by a worksheet. Remember that you can re-play the power point at any time to help you with the work sheet.
I have also included a quick starter and some extra reasoning and problem solving questions for those who need further challenge.
If you find yourself becoming stressed about any of your Maths, then do not panic. Contact me via Seesaw and in the mean-time practise your basic skills using IDL Cloud.
To access this, search for IDL and log on in the following way:
~ In lower case letters, enter your surname, followed by the first letter of your
Christian name, followed by @ol112tn
~ In lower case letters (For your password) again enter your surname, followed
by the first letter of your Christian name.

Remember to keep up with your reading for at least 30 minutes a day. Well done to all of those pupils who are completing quizzes regularly and working towards their Spring target.
One of our class has now met their target twice!!
