Thursday 4th March

Morning Activity

For your morning activity, choose from the following:

  1. Repeat the 180 times tables sheet from Monday
  2.  Spend 15 minutes on Hit the Button
  3. Spend 15 minutes on TT Rockstars
  4. Practise this week’s spellings

Grammar Activity

There are two short grammar activities to complete – one for Wednesday and one for Thursday. These can be printed out, answered in books or simply discussed.

English

This week, your work will continue to be focused around the Oak Academy unit for Year 4 on writing non-chronological reports. This should fit in well with our wider topic on animals and ecosystems.

There is one lesson per day linked to this English theme.

Reading Journal Activity

On Thursday and Friday your Reading Journal time is to be used to complete activities related to World Book Day.

Please choose from the activities listed below.

Maths

This week’s Maths continues our topic of fractions.

We will look again at subtracting fractions before finding out how to calculate fractions of amounts.

Live lessons on Monday, Thursday and Friday will be based on this.

On Monday, Thursday and Friday, we will use our normal power points and worksheets.

The power point will take you through each step. You can then complete the worksheet.

If you need more of a challenge, check out the problem solving activities that I have included in the list of resources for Friday 5th March.

I have also included a daily true or false reasoning activity.

I have added some questions below that deal with finding fractions of larger quantities, along with further practice in finding equivalent fractions.

Some of you need extra challenge, so if you have completed today's worksheet and found it quite straight forward, please try these.

MyOn

Remember to keep up with your reading for at least 30 minutes a day. Well done to all of those pupils who are completing quizzes regularly and working towards their Spring target.

We now have eleven children who have exceeded their Spring target –well done!

RE

This week, we will continue our topic of ‘Eucharist’ which looks at the importance of the Mass. As so many of you have recently made (or will be making) your First Holy Communion, this is a very relevant topic for us.

All of the information you need to complete lesson two is included in the attached power point.
