Early Help and Pastoral Support

The Early Help Locality Team is a service helping children, young people and families to deal with any issues as early as possible, before they turn into big problems. 

Early Help support is delivered by many partners across the borough, all working together to help and support families including :

  • parenting and childcare support
  • help with housing, finance or benefits
  • mental health or counselling support
  • health support and school nursing
  • special educational needs support
  • help managing a child's behaviour
  • youth service support
  • employment support

Our Rochdale is a useful directory (ourrochdale.org.uk) of services for health and family support providers across the borough. It provides a lot of examples of early help support that is available.

You can also contact your local Sure Start Children's Centre who are able to provide a wide range of support including:

  • Family relationship difficulties and parental conflict
  • Parenting support and advice for children aged 0-18
  • Activities to keep you children entertained as well as home schooling
  • Helping your child become school ready
  • Feeding, weaning and sleep advice for babies
