Anti-Bullying Week

During Anti-bullying week we carried out lots of different activities.  We started off by sorting and discussing behaviours that you would see if you were being a good friend or a not so good friend.  We talked about how you need to act to be a good friend towards somebody and used this to create our own friendship acrostic poems.

We had a ‘Top Secret Mission’ in year one!  In the morning we were all given someone who we were going to be extra nice to all day without telling them.  In the afternoon we made this person a friendship bracelet and gave it to them at the end of the day.  It was very special and everyone enjoyed realising how nice people had been.

We looked at the word ‘bullying’ and what it means.  We discussed how it can make people feel, both the bully and the victim. We acted out some scenarios and did some freeze frames to discuss the feelings.  After this, we made a helping hand for ourselves, to remind us that we always have people we can turn to for help and support.
