Mary Chadwick - Chair of Governors
I have a very strong affection for St Gabriel’s, being one of four generations having attended; my mother, myself, our three children & our granddaughter have all benefitted from our catholic ethos. As a Governor I bring this affection along with my experience of being a senor manager within the NHS & having a MSc in Management.
Mr Tommy Ingham - Foundation Governor
I am a Foundation Governor, which means that my position is accountable to Salford Diocese, I am also a Parent with two children at school. My Hobbies include walking,Amateur Dramatics, photography (landscapes) and music of all varieties. My passion is for the community of St. Gabriel's and Castleton, that we all fulfill our commitment to village community life with christian values at the heart of everything.
Fr Michael Johonnett - Foundation Governor
Hi, Father Michael here. I am Parish Priest and Foundation Governor. I support Manchester United and enjoy walking and reading.
Mrs Marion Brown - Foundation Governor
I am a Foundation Governor following a period of Parent Governor; I am a parishioner of St Gabriel’s parish and my daughter is an ex-pupil of the school moving on to high school from Year 6.
I am a Data Analyst and Performance Information officer for Rochdale Children’s Social Care currently working on a new initiative for children on the edge of care, No Wrong Door, which in Rochdale is called ‘Our Place’ and am a volunteer member of the Fostering Panel which approves new foster carers for Rochdale Fostering Service.
Through my work and my role as governor I try at all times to apply one of the five provocations of Our Place “would this be good enough for my child.” I also believe that all children are given every opportunity and support to reach their full potential.
Mrs Ashleigh Williams - Parent Governor
I am a Health and Wellbeing link governor at St Gabriels, I wanted to be a governor as I love the school and want to support the staff, management, and pupils to achieve their aims. I live locally and my two children attend St Gabriels. I work for Bury Council as a Major Projects Manager which is focused on leading the development of a mixed-use town centre regeneration scheme, my job enables me to bring many transferable skills into my governor role.
Mr Roger Dennerly - Foundation Governor
I am a Foundation Governor and have lived in St Gabriel’s Parish for over 40 years. In addition, both my daughter and granddaughter used to attend the school. I was a solicitor practicing in various areas of court work including child protection.
I strongly believe that every child should have the best opportunity to realise his or her potential and I see it as my role as a governor to ensure that the children of St Gabriel’s have that opportunity.
Mrs Natasha Imran- Governor
I have lived in Castleton my whole life and currently teach Science in a secondary school located in Rochdale. I have a daughter currently in year one attending St. Gabriel’s and I hope her younger brother will be joining her in September 2024.
I am highly invested in the education of children living within Castleton and ultimately Rochdale.
To me , education is an experience , whether it be academic or experiential.
Todays children are the future adults of our village.
Ms Keela Walsh
I have lived in the community of Castleton for 19 years and my daughter attends the school also.
I work for the Co-op as an Academies Advisor where I act as a conduit between the business, its suppliers and the Co-op Academies Trust which is a multi academy Trust in the North of England. One of my main responsibilities is helping the Trust, via our business and supplier expertise, to enrich its careers provision across Primary, Secondary, Special and College settings through the development of careers programmes delivered from Early Years to Post 16.
I believe that every child, regardless of ethnic background, culture, language, gender, socio-economic background or disability, deserves to be given fair access to a good education, wellbeing support and the ability to develop key life and employability skills to prepare them for the world of work. I am also a sponsor Governor at Co-op Academy North Manchester.
