Welcome to Year 3!
This year, our Year 3 children are split into two groups - Year 3B and Year 3C. The class teacher in Year 3B is Mrs Brooks and the class teacher in Year 3C is Miss Coupe. The class will come together for Assemblies, Music and PE lessons, as well as the Sacramental Programme and other events throughout the year.
Important ongoing information
PE - Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
Spellings will be given out on Fridays and the tests will take place the following Friday, along with mental maths tests.
Homework will be given out each Friday. Completed homework should be by Tuesday the following week.
Reading books should be read daily. Children can bring their books to be changed as frequently as they want. It is vital that you read with your child at home and sign their reading record to ensure more rapid progress in this area. If your child reads books other than those sent home from school, please feel free to also write these in their reading record as we aim to promote a love of reading.
Learning for Life groups, Music lessons and French lessons will all take place on Wednesdays.
Please read our curriculum planning documents below to see what we will be learning throughout the year.
Sacramental Programme
In Year 3, children are given the opportunity to take the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. The programme runs throughout the year and children must attend mass every week and have their register signed by Fr. Michael. The meetings in school take place on Wednesdays 2.50pm - 3.45pm. Children should be collected from the main Reception door promptly after the sessions. Please see below for a list of this year's important dates.
