Superworm - By Julia Donaldson

During English, we are reading Superworm. Oh no...Superworm has been kidnapped by Wizard Lizard!  Hopefully the descriptions on our wanted posters will help people to find him and get him back safe and sound!

Thank you! Rotary Shoe Box Appeal

Thank you for filling the shoe boxes for the Rotary Shoe Box appeal.  These are now ready to be posted along with the rest of the schools collection to children and families who need them.

Jesus Welcomes Us!

We learnt about the story where the disciples sent the children away from Jesus.  This made Jesus angry and he told the disciples to let the children come to him.  We drew ourselves and added us to the picture.  We thought about what it would feel like to be turned away but also to be welcomed by Jesus.

The Elves and the Shoemaker

Thank you for your contributions towards our Harvest collection. We enjoyed a special mass led by Year 5.  Our collection has now gone to our local food bank.

Crazy Shoe Day!

Description: Image result for rotary shoe box

We had a fundraising day to wear a pair of crazy shoes in exchange for £1.  We raised money for the Rotary shoe box appeal.  Our money will purchase a box which we will fill to give to someone who needs it.

What is Rotary?

We are community champions who stand up for our communities both locally and overseas. We support those who need help, we strive to improve lives and we bring about positive change in our neighbourhoods. Every event, initiative or project that we run – whether it is local, national, international or online – is rooted in the notion of community. This is because we believe that society works better when communities work together.

Crazy Shoe Day

Gabriel brings good news.... St. Gabriel's Day

Thank you for all the effort put into our 'Talking bags' homework. The children really enjoyed sharing and hearing about other children's interests or their experiences.

Homework

Please listen to your child read daily and sign their reading record.  They are given reading books from school but you can also add in any extra reading materials your child enjoys from home.

A maths and writing/spelling activity will be given out each Friday, this is to be completed and returned to school the following Wednesday.  Spelling tests are usually on Wednesdays.

Please encourage your child to complete homework as this will help to reinforce the learning that we have been doing during the week.

The following document shows the words that children are expected to read and spell by the end of Year 1
